Expansion & Renovation – BILD Architects involvement with this South African landmark dates back to the completion of its redevelopment in 2000. In collaboration with Terra Ether Architects, BILD Architects recently designed and successfully completed the latest renovation, expansion & redevelopment of this iconic, super regional shopping centre. Completed in November 2016, Menlyn boasts a retail floor area of 177 000 sqm. with 500 shops in total ‘making it the largest mall on the African Continent’. The completed design revolves around several iconic spaces – the Food Court, Grand Hall & Cavendish Court, Aviary & Celestial Halls, 4 Focal Nodes, Central Park, The Focal Entrance and the Grocery Avenue Court. Phase 1 of Menlyn has achieved a 4 green star rating both for Design & As Built.

The centre opened on the scheduled opening date and is successfully trading. The Main Contractor is currently at Works Completion stage and are 95% complete.
